Item level depends on the monster/map level when dropping, character level when gambling/cubing, and difficulty & character level when shopping. If an item is gained through a cube recipe, its output item level is capped between 1 and 99,īut some cube recipes can benefit from and use an input item level that is higher than 99. It can be different even for items of the same type and tier, but it can't be seen without turning it on in the game settings, or 3rd party tools (like D2Stats Reader). This number is usually a good indication of the strength and level of the area/monster that it dropped from.
